Landlock
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Landlock (“the App”) is a personal productivity app for iPhone that can block distracting apps when you enter places you choose. This policy explains what information the App uses and how it is handled.
Information the App uses
- Location. With your permission (including “Always” access), the App uses your location on-device to detect when you enter or leave zones you create, so app blocking can turn on and off in the background.
- Motion. With your permission, the App may use device motion on-device to notice when you start moving near a small zone, so it can confirm location without keeping GPS on while you sit still.
- Screen Time selections. With your permission through Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs, the App stores the apps, categories, and websites you choose to block. These selections stay on your device (including in an App Group shared with Landlock’s extensions).
- Zones and settings you create. Names, emojis, map centers, radii, schedules, and related preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks such as SwiftData and UserDefaults / App Group storage.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, the App may send local notifications (for example, when you enter or leave a zone). These are delivered by iOS on your device.
- Purchases. If you buy Landlock Plus, payment is processed by Apple through StoreKit / the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide the App with purchase/entitlement status needed to unlock features.
What we do not collect
Landlock does not require you to create an account with us. The App does not upload your location history, zone list, or Screen Time selections to a Landlock server. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
How information is stored and shared
- On your device. Core app data used for geofencing and blocking remains on your iPhone (and in Landlock’s App Group for its system extensions).
- Apple. Apple provides platform services the App relies on, including location, Screen Time / Managed Settings, notifications, and App Store purchases. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s own policies.
- No Landlock backend. As of this policy’s date, there is no Landlock cloud service that receives your zone or location data.
Permissions you control
You can revoke Location, Motion, Screen Time / Family Controls, and Notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Doing so may limit or disable Landlock features that depend on those permissions. You can also delete zones or delete the App to remove locally stored Landlock data from your device.
Children
Landlock is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
