The Daily Scroll Times
Support
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Daily Scroll keeps the social apps you choose closed all day. They open for one hour, 8:00 to 9:00 PM, at the same time as everyone else in your time zone. This page covers common questions and how to get help.
Getting started
- Allow Screen Time access so Daily Scroll can block the apps you choose.
- Tap Choose apps and tick the apps on the Block list. Expand the Social category and tick apps one by one rather than ticking the Social header, which also covers Messages and FaceTime.
- Tap Start Daily Scroll. Blocking begins immediately and lifts every day at 8:00 PM.
Common questions
Why can’t the app pick the apps for me?
iOS does not allow any app to select other apps to block. Apple’s picker hands Daily Scroll anonymous tokens for whatever you tick, and only you can tick them. The Block and Keep lists in the app are a guide.
Messages or FaceTime got blocked
Apple files Messages and FaceTime under the Social category, so ticking the whole category blocks them too. Open Settings (the gear), tap Change apps, untick the Social header, expand it, and tick the individual apps instead.
Can I change the hour?
No. The hour is the same for everyone, which is the point. It is 8:00 to 9:00 PM in your local time.
I need an app before 8 PM
Open Settings and tap Pause blocking for 15 minutes. You will need to keep the app open on the pause screen for three minutes first. Leaving the screen, locking the phone, or switching apps restarts the three minutes. When it reaches zero, blocking stops for 15 minutes and then comes back on its own. Pausing resets your streak.
Apps are not being blocked
- Confirm Screen Time access is still allowed for Daily Scroll in iOS Settings.
- Open Daily Scroll once. It re-checks the block every time it comes to the foreground.
- Make sure at least one app is ticked under Settings → Change apps.
- If it is between 8:00 and 9:00 PM, or a pause is running, blocking is off on purpose.
- If nothing helps, delete and reinstall the app, then set it up again.
Reminders are not arriving
Check that notifications are allowed for Daily Scroll in iOS Settings and that the Reminders switch is on in the app’s Settings.
Does Daily Scroll collect anything?
No. There is no account and no server. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Delete Daily Scroll from your iPhone. Everything it stored goes with it.
